For the quilting task I started by thumbnailing a few ideas, taking alot of inspiration from Sanrio Handkerchiefs because the company that the robots are meant to be from is an east asian company. Places like Japan and Korea have more advanced technology than the rest of the world so I figured that would be the place where the bots where most likely to have been made.

I made the final "quilt" out of cardboard and embroidered details and paper onto it, I like how it turned out in the end but there are some mistakes that could have been avoided with more planning and more experimenting. If I was to do this project again I think it would come out drastically different. One small detail that I do like about this piece is the square of blue, which was meant to give a hint to the story that this piece would come from.
The "quilt's" story was that it once belonged to a child and it was one of their favourite belongings, but when it got a rip in it their grandparent stitched it up with the small scrap of blue you can see. To be loved is to be changed.
